Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Saugus' Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Saugus won the last time they faced San Marcos and things went their way on Saturday too. The Centurions put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Centurions, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kona Ramsbottom tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nicole Specht, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Horvat, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Saugus is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for San Marcos, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Saugus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 win against Dos Pueblos on the 5th. As for San Marcos, they have also already played their next match, a 4-0 loss against Burroughs on the 5th.
