Basketball Game Preview: Navarro Panthers vs. New Braunfels Unicorns

The Navarro Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the New Braunfels Unicorns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Navarro is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Navarro and Floresville, and Floresville kept the tradition alive. The Panthers took a blow against the Tigers/Jaguars on Tuesday, falling 53-22. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, New Braunfels was beaten by Wagner 73-16 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Unicorns in their meetings with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost seven in a row.

Riley Lundegreen was New Braunfels' leading scorer, having posted seven points. Michelle Moore held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

New Braunfels' defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Navarro, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Navarro couldn't quite finish off New Braunfels when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 46-43. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
