Basketball Recap: Noah Coyne and Caden Thacker Secure Win for Douglas

Douglas can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 victory over the Mountain View Spartans. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 44th in Nevada, while the Spartans are ranked 376th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Douglas was led to victory by Caden Thacker and Noah Coyne. Thacker posted 16 points, while Coyne scored eight points and four steals. Trent Ipsen was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Jaden Feller, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and three blocks. Feller is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Maller, who had seven points and five boards.

Douglas' win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Douglas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-58 defeat against Granite Bay on the 30th. As for Mountain View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-36 loss against Temecula Prep on the 30th.
