Recap: Carroll Eagles vs. Greenville Tigers
The Carroll Eagles won the last time they faced the Greenville Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Carroll came out on top against Greenville by a score of 60-53. Given Carroll's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Greenville is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Carroll to victory were Devon Pruitt and Lakeith Person. Pruitt dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds, while Person scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Person continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was N'jia Gosha, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Greenville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Carroll will be playing in front of their home fans against Charles Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charles Henderson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 256 points over their last four matchups. Greenville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Georgiana at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. Georgiana will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
