Soccer Recap: Granite Hills' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Hills, Granite Hills was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mount Miguel Matadors a 3-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Asiel Barraza and Carson Wondra scored all three of Granite Hills' goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Granite Hills' win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-7-2. As for Mount Miguel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granite Hills will face off against El Cajon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Miguel has already played their next contest (against El Capitan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
