Grimsley and Mooresville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Grimsley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. The Whirlies' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Grimsley took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 25-27, 25-22, 15-10.

When it comes to explaining why Grimsley lost, don't look at Morgan Falk. Despite the final result, she had 34 digs and two aces. Falk is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Reagan Young had a dynamite game For Mooresville., getting 23 digs and three assists.

Grimsley's defeat dropped their record down to 27-9. As for Mooresville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
