Softball Game Preview: Hackensack Comets vs. Tenafly Tigers

The Hackensack Comets will head out to face off against the Tenafly Tigers at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hackensack is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Saturday. They came up short against West Orange, falling 17-5.

Briana Darling was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Giada Oates, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tenafly and Teaneck, and Teaneck kept the tradition alive. The Tigers lost 13-1 to the Highwaymen on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Tenafly's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hackensack, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Tenafly's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hackensack hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .411. It's a different story for Tenafly, though, as they've only averaged .186. Will they be able to contain Hackensack's hitters?
