Volleyball Recap: Penn Kingsmen vs. South Bend Riley Wildcats
Penn was the 2-0 winner over South Bend Riley when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Kingsmen fell 3-1 to the Wildcats on Thursday.
Penn couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 19-25, 25-14, 27-25.
Bryan Forbes paced Penn's offense, picking up 12 kills. Forbes got some help from Jacoby Forbes and his 25 assists. Bryan also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Logan Warner, racking up two apiece.
Penn's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for South Bend Riley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-15.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Penn and Warsaw will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Bend Riley, they will face off against Elkhart at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
