Four-star athlete Ryan Jones of North Carolina signs with Oklahoma

One of country's top all-around athletes confirms pick to Oklahoma, 12 other Mavericks cement plans for college.

Star athlete Ryan Jones was considered a hard commit to Oklahoma. He kept that commitment on a very busy and triumphant National Signing Day at Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.) on Wednesday.

The four-star recruit led a list of four other Mallard Creek football players who signed with FBS schools. Viewers watched live on MaxPreps.com as Jones, a MaxPreps preseason All-American, signed with the Sooners.

Eight other Mavericks signed letters of intent, giving them 13 in all who signed letters of intent.



The four other Mavericks who signed to FBS programs were Eric Douglas II (South Carolina), Grant Gibson (North Carolina State), Isaac Hampton (Miami, Ohio) and T.J. Moore (Florida).

Others Mallard Creek players to sign were Keshaun Abel (Western Carolina), Chauncey Caldwell (North Carolina Central), Deonte’ Grier (Gardner-Webb), Brian Hamrick (Fayetteville State), Brian Lassiter ii (Eastern Kentucky), Larry Matkins (Fayetteville State), Jordan Smith (Guilford College) and Jaquez Taylor (University of Charleston).
