Marvin Ridge had won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 2-1 to make it 12. They walked away with a 44-36 victory over the Providence Day Chargers. For the Mavericks, this counts as revenge for the 39-34 win the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.

Having lost for the first time this season, Providence Day fell to 4-1. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Providence Day's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katelyn Ramsden, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Jaida McClure, who earned seven points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Marvin Ridge and Concord Academy will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Mavericks will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Providence Day, they will face off against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
