Basketball Preview: Broken Arrow Tigers vs. Southmoore SaberCats
Broken Arrow is 3-0 against the SaberCats since March of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Broken Arrow Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Southmoore SaberCats at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Broken Arrow is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the SaberCats in Oklahoma (the Tigers are ranked 38th, while the SaberCats are ranked 302nd).
In what's become a running theme this season, Broken Arrow gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by Ponca City at home to the tune of 68-21.
It was another big night for McKenzie Mathurin, who scored 28 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Marraccini, who scored four points along with eight assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Southmoore's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Bixby 67-34.
Broken Arrow has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Southmoore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Broken Arrow against the SaberCats in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 82-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Broken Arrow since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
