Softball Recap: Western Wayne Takes a Loss

Western Wayne came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-3 to the Old Forge Blue Devils. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Western Wayne saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raegan Palmer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another was Hannah DeStefano, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Western Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Old Forge, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Western Wayne is set to challenge their familiar foe Mid Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Old Forge will square off against rival Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
