Soccer Game Preview: Ridge View vs. Spring Valley

Ridge View is 0-8 against Spring Valley since March of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Blazers will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Ridge View will be strutting in after a win while Spring Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Ridge View took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Westwood a 3-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Liam Mueller and Justus Sumpter scored all three of Ridge View's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Blythewood on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 3-2. Spring Valley have struggled against Blythewood recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ridge View, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Ridge View might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Spring Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Blazers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
