Football Recap: Desert Pines Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Desert Pines extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arbor View Aggies. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Aggies from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Desert Pines' loss came despite strong showings from Jerome Sequeira and Marcus Williams. Sequeira threw for 296 yards and four TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes, while Williams rushed for 167 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Williams is now averaging an impressive 103.5 rushing yards per game.

As for Arbor View, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Thaddeus Thatcher had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 315 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 50 yards and one TD. His passing game has become a key predictor of Arbor View's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Zac Fares was in the mix too, providing the Aggies with two scores.

Desert Pines didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-21 win against Canyon Springs on the 24th. As for Arbor View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 57-28 victory against Las Vegas on the 24th.
