Softball Game Preview: Centereach Cougars vs. Bellport Clippers

The Centereach Cougars will head out to take on the Bellport Clippers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Centereach is looking for their season's first win.

Deer Park hit Centereach with a four-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars lost 10-1 to the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Bellport fell victim to West Islip and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 10-0. The Clippers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bellport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angely Banegas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Centereach's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bellport, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Centereach couldn't quite finish off Bellport when the teams last played back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
