West Lafayette has gone a perfect 7-0 against Frontier recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Frontier will be up against a hot West Lafayette squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Red Devils' way against Benton Central on Wednesday as they made off with a 7-1 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Ben Werth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. West Lafayette is undefeated when Werth allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Werth was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Cade Kitchel looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
Werth wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Calvin Snyder, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Another was Colin Kastens, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Frontier won against Faith Christian on Tuesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Frontier has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for West Lafayette, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Everything went West Lafayette's way against Frontier in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as West Lafayette made off with a 12-2 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
