Softball Recap: Archbishop Mitty Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Archbishop Mitty won the last time they faced Salinas and things went their way on Saturday too. The Archbishop Mitty Monarchs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Salinas Cowboys a 3-0 shutout. The Monarchs' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Archbishop Mitty got a great performance from Kyleigh Mace as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. Mace has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Archbishop Mitty saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Anderson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Another was Payton Burton, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Archbishop Mitty's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Salinas, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
