Basketball Game Preview: Rainier Columbians vs. Warrenton Warriors

The Rainier Columbians will head out on the road to challenge the Warrenton Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Rainier and ten for Warrenton.

On Tuesday, Rainier took a blow against Banks, falling 65-16. The matchup marked the Columbians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-27, which was the final score in Warrenton's tilt against Banks on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Braves are ranked 19th).

Warrenton's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Rainier, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Rainier strolled past Warrenton when the teams last played on January 10th by a score of 50-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rainier since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
