Miamisburg lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Springfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 17-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Miamisburg got a great performance from Reed Warner as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Warner is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Bryce Vaughn was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Walker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Miamisburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only posted an OBP of .062.

Miamisburg's record is now 6-8. As for Springfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7-1.

Miamisburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
