Soccer Game Preview: St. Catherine's vs. St. Margaret's

The St. Catherine's Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Margaret's Scotties at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Catherine's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Tuesday, St. Catherine's and Saint Gertrude finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, St. Margaret's was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell just short of Trinity Episcopal by a score of 2-1. The loss put an end to St. Margaret's undefeated start to the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Sofia Jimenez Ulloa, who's now up to three this season.

St. Catherine's draw gives them a new season record of 2-4-2. As for St. Margaret's, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went St. Catherine's way against St. Margaret's when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as St. Catherine's made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
