Football Preview: Rockdale Tigers vs. Lexington Eagles

The Rockdale Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Lexington Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Friday, Rockdale made easy work of Hempstead and carried off a 28-7 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Lexington got the win against Little River Academy on Friday by a conclusive 45-21. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Bumblebees are ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Noah Wright-Harris was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Biehle, who picked up 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lexington was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 495 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Little River Academy only gained 288.

Rockdale's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0. As for Lexington, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
