Baseball Recap: Elkhorn Takes a Loss

Elkhorn was the 3-0 winner over Blair when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Antlers fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Elkhorn got a good showing from Camden Gatling, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Gatling has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Elkhorn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paxton Stracke, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Elkhorn has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Blair, they moved to 4-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Elkhorn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Gretna on the 15th. As for Blair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-2 loss against Norris on the 15th.
