Volleyball Recap: Amelia Academy Wins Going Away Against Tidewater Academy

Amelia Academy's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Tidewater Academy Warriors 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Amelia Academy never let Tidewater Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24, 25-14.

Reagan Graber was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 14 aces and 13 assists. What's more, she posted two kills, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddison Wilburn, who had eight digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Amelia Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tidewater Academy only served five.

Amelia Academy's record now sits at 5-8. As for Tidewater Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Amelia Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Fuqua at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tidewater Academy will face off against rival Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
