Basketball Recap: NV - Demarest Find Success

NV - Demarest lost to Northern Highlands back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The NV - Demarest Norsemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 win over the Northern Highlands Highlanders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Norsemen have posted since February 22, 2024.

Northern Highlands' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Dipasupil, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 24 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Dipasupil's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Weinberger, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with five boards and three steals.

NV - Demarest's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Northern Highlands, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NV - Demarest has already played their next matchup (against Pascack Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Northern Highlands will square off against Paramus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
