Basketball Recap: Thief River Falls Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Thief River Falls can now relate to. They lost to the Barnesville Trojans on the road by a 73-58 margin on Tuesday. The Prowlers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Despite the loss, Thief River Falls still got an impressive performance from Bridger Wilcox, who went 9-for-17 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 43.1% of Thief River Falls' points, marking the third time in a row Wilcox has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Nelson, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 13 points along with six assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Thief River Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Thief River Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Barnesville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 22-7.

As of now, neither Thief River Falls nor Barnesville have any future games scheduled.
