Recap: Chavez Lobos vs. Lamar Texans
This season hasn't been kind to The Chavez Lobos, who are still winless after their eighth match. They were beaten by Lamar 81-0 on Friday. Chavez has struggled against Lamar recently, as their match on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Lamar was led to victory by Chaseston Guidry and Justin Howard. Guidry rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while Howard gained 138 total yards and three touchdowns. Guidry was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Pedro Carreon made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Chavez's defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.7 points per game. As for Lamar, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Coincidentally, Chavez and Lamar will both be playing Bellaire the next time they take the field. Chavez will host Bellaire at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Lamar will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on November 2nd.
