Recap: Malvern Prep Friars vs. Shipley
The Malvern Prep Friars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 82-49 win over Shipley. Malvern Prep's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Shipley's loss came despite strong showings from Will Littles, Jr and Matt Lange. Littles, Jr scored 14 points, while Lange scored ten points along with three steals. The contest was Littles, Jr's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gyasi Miller, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Malvern Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Shipley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Malvern Prep will face off against La Salle College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Salle College will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Malvern Prep is ranked first). Shipley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Friends Select at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Friends Select comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
