Basketball Recap: Millard North Piles Up the Points Against Benson

Millard North won against Papillion-LaVista last Tuesday with 82 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Millard North Mustangs blew past the Benson Bunnies 82-39. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Avril Smith had an outrageously good game as she went 9 for 13 en route to 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Abby Scritchfield was another key player, going 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points.

Millard North pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Benson, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Millard North has already played their next game, a 73-53 win against Columbus on the 14th. As for Benson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-61 defeat against Elkhorn South on the 14th.
