Basketball Recap: Crandall Beats Kaufman for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Crandall waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 70-57 victory over the Kaufman Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 81-55 on January 3rd.

Crandall got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Franklin out in front who went 9 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points. Franklin's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tj Taylor was another key player, going 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Crandall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Crandall is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-15 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Kaufman, they dropped their record down to 7-18 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Crandall has already played their next game (against Midlothian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Kaufman Lions face off against the Terrell Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Kaufman is facing Terrell at the right time seeing as Terrell is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
