Basketball Recap: Andrew Galvez and Tim Tanner Secure Win for Sylmar

Sylmar won the last time they faced Canoga Park and things went their way on Friday too. The Sylmar Spartans came out on top against the Canoga Park Hunters by a score of 67-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Leading Sylmar to victory were Tim Tanner and Andrew Galvez. Tanner went 6 for 9 en route to 18 points, while Galvez went 6 of 14 on his way to 20 points and three steals. Galvez has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cymon Millhouse, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Sylmar is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Canoga Park, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Sylmar will host Castaic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canoga Park, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-56 defeat against Reseda on the 1st.
