Baseball Recap: Campo Verde Comes Up Short

Campo Verde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Santiago Sharks.

Campo Verde got a good showing from Anthony Flacco, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Flacco a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Campo Verde saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Rauch, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Rauch also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Santiago, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Campo Verde and Horizon will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Santiago, they will take on San Juan Hills in a tournament on Friday.
