Baseball Recap: Morgan Has No Trouble Against Ogden

Morgan barely beat Ogden the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 11-3 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.

Karson Black spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Easton Venz, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Webster Gilson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Morgan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Morgan's record is now 15-10. As for Ogden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ogden, they will take on Emery at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
