Football Game Preview: Draughn Wildcats vs. East Burke Cavaliers

The Draughn Wildcats will face off against the East Burke Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Draughn's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Chase on Friday. They were dealt a 62-0 defeat at the hands of the Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 58 points in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, East Burke took a blow against East Rutherford on Friday, falling 53-24.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Ossie Burkeen and Brandon Pinkerton. Pinkerton had a great game and rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Burkeen was balling out in the loss, rushing for 145 yards and one score.

East Burke didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as RJ Williams, Trevor Fraley, and Jaxson Wiley picked up one apiece. Wiley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

East Burke's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Draughn, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
