Meyoh Swansey leads Thornton to victory over Thornwood

The Thornton Wildcats stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They blew past Thornwood 68-42. The win was familiar territory for Thornton who now have five in a row.

Meyoh Swansey was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Morez Johnson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Thornton is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Thornwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Thornton will head out on the road to take on Crete-Monee at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Crete-Monee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Thornton is ranked second). As for Thornwood, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against DRW College Prep at 6:30 p.m.
