Basketball Game Preview: Burton Scorpions vs. Animo Pat Brown Gryphons

The Burton Scorpions will head out on the road to challenge the Animo Pat Brown Gryphons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burton hasn't scored more than 17 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Burton is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against New Designs Watts on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Burton was outmatched by New Designs Watts and fell 76-17. The Scorpions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

Meanwhile, Animo Pat Brown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 61-37 to Animo Venice. The Gryphons were down 56-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Burton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Animo Pat Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Burton took a serious blow against Animo Pat Brown when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 67-18. Can Burton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
