Baseball Recap: St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Takes a Loss

The St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors came up short against the Santa Ana Valley Falcons on Thursday and fell 6-3. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joshua Rios made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Eleazar Garcia was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Santa Ana Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will take on Beverly Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Normans will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Santa Ana Valley, they will challenge Santiago at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
