Football Recap: Mifflin County Huskies vs. DuBois Beavers

Mifflin County lost against DuBois back in September of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Huskies were outmatched by the Beavers and fell 48-21. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Beavers are ranked 93rd).

Chase Hartung threw for 271 yards and one TD. Lucas Hartung was his top target, picking up 67 receiving yards. On the ground, Brandon Kauffman rushed for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

DuBois' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Wingard, who threw for 279 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. The Beavers are 7-1 when Wingard posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. London Duncan helped Wingard out on the ground, rushing for 105 yards and one score, while also picking up 45 receiving yards.

Mifflin County's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for DuBois, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Mifflin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for DuBois, they will square off against Hollidaysburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Beavers will need to watch out since the Golden Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine matchups.
