Softball Game Preview: Bucktail Bucks vs. Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs

The Bucktail Bucks are taking a road trip to take on the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Bucktail came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Northeast Bradford, falling 9-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Bucks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Claysburg-Kimmel rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Hornets 5-4. The win was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after 25 games remain undefeated this season.

Isabella Paris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Savanna Crissman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Black, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bucktail's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, their victory bumped their record up to 25-0.
