Baseball Recap: Menendez Comes Up Short

Menendez came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Rockledge Raiders by a score of 6-4 on Friday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Menendez saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tripp Barkoskie, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Menendez's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Rockledge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Menendez will face off against St. Joseph Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Joseph Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Menendez's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockledge, they will challenge McKeel Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (McKeel Academy 2.9, Rockledge 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
