Perry fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lake Catholic on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Lake Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-4.

Looking ahead, Perry will host Hudson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 4, the Explorers 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lake Catholic, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lakewood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games the Rangers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
