Lincoln is 9-1 against Balboa since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Lincoln Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Balboa Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. Lincoln will be strutting in after a victory while Balboa will be coming in after a defeat.

Lincoln is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Mission 10-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won eight in a row.

Aidan Castaneda was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That one earned run gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Santino Villasenor looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Xavier Malizia and Wyatt Toloski did most of the damage at the plate: Malizia scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Toloski scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Toloski a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Chiu, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Balboa's offense. They lost 16-0 to Washington on Thursday. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Lincoln's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Balboa, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Lincoln's way against Balboa in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Lincoln made off with a 10-0 win. Does Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Balboa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
