Baseball Recap: Chaparral Firebirds vs. Cienega Bobcats

Chaparral couldn't beat Cienega on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Firebirds fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 7-6. The Firebirds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2018.

Tanner Anderson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Gavin Mesa was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Cienega, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8.
