Softball Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

Seymour has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.29 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Floyd Central Highlanders, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Owls were not able to get on the board.

Seymour saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Stuckwisch, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Seymour's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Floyd Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Seymour will host Jeffersonville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Floyd Central, they will take on Columbus North at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bull Dogs have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
