Baseball Recap: Hickman County Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Hickman County took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Murray, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Tigers on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Kobe Yamauchi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Hickman County's victory bumped their record up to 16-5-1. As for Murray, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hickman County will challenge Carlisle County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Murray, they will square off against Obion County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
