Wamego took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Marysville Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Red Raiders sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row dating back to last season.
Peyton Hardenberger made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Hardenberger was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.
Marysville dropped their record down to 7-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
