Softball Recap: Wellsville Eagles vs. Burlington Wildcats

Wellsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-5 to the Burlington Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Tuesday.

Wellsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brinlee Hartman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was Hartman's first of the season. Kailynn Rice was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Wellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Burlington, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellsville will welcome Louisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Burlington, they will be playing at home against Mission Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
