Volleyball Recap: Yuma Outlaws vs. Wiggins Tigers
Yuma lost against Wiggins back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Outlaws came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0.
While Yuma ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.
Berkley Nighswonger paced Yuma's offense, picking up seven kills. Nighswonger got some help from Bailey Nighswonger and her 11 assists. Aubrey Black controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Saria Hawkins was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.
Yuma's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11. As for Wiggins, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Yuma has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Byers on the 11th. As for Wiggins, they will square off against Caliche at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
