Volleyball Recap: Danica Puepke's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vista Ridge over Stony Point

If Vista Ridge was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cedar Ridge on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rangers fell just short of the Stony Point Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Rangers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Vista Ridge sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 21-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-9.

Vista Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danica Puepke, who had 20 digs.

Stony Point can attribute much of their success to Lexi Boyer, who had ten digs and three assists.

Vista Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 24-19. As for Stony Point, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 23-19.

Looking ahead, Vista Ridge will head out on the road to take on Manor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rangers are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Stony Point, they will be playing at home against Round Rock Westwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
