Softball Game Preview: Cesar Chavez Champions vs. Liberty Lions

The Cesar Chavez Champions will head out on the road to take on the Liberty Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Cesar Chavez's hitters haven't had much luck over their past seven matches, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Cesar Chavez's offense. They lost 18-0 to Kofa on Thursday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Liberty duked it out with Canyon View on Wednesday. Liberty came up short against Canyon View, falling 12-1. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Liberty saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Calsyn, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Cesar Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Cesar Chavez might still be hurting after the 20-1 loss they got from Liberty when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Can Cesar Chavez avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
