Recap: Sacred Heart Academy Spartans vs. Holy Trinity Titans
The Sacred Heart Academy Spartans had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 68-44 margin over Holy Trinity. With Sacred Heart Academy ahead 38-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Holy Trinity's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Maya Logie and Anna Marcone. Logie scored 21 points along with 8 steals and 5 rebounds, while Marcone scored 10 points. Logie scored a full 47.7% of Holy Trinity's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sacred Heart Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Holy Trinity, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Moore Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on December 23rd. As for Holy Trinity, they will be playing at home against Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
